Farmers' Markets
The Southside Farmers' Market in Canberra is the only place you can consistently buy our produce. You will find us at the Southside Farmers Market, CIT campus, corner Hindmarsh Drive and Ainsworth Street, Phillip, almost every Sunday 9am until 12 noon. This the best farmers market in Canberra, not the biggest but definitely the best, if only because we go there :-)
The Southside Farmers Markets are a success for us, and we are known as evangelists for sustainable farming. In fact I have labelled myself 'a born again farmer', and we make new 'converts' every week. Our existing clients also send people to 'check us out', and it appears that our way of farming and doing business is appreciated.
What we do at the markets. We take and sell Beef mince and sausages, and when available, Pork mince and sausages and lamb to the markets. We also take advance orders for our beef, lamb and pork packs, and bring them in the following Sunday for collection. We often have introductory packs at the markets too, like our Creative Pack and the Two-Up Pack, but these cannot be forward ordered. So drop in and see what's available if you are up bright and early on a Sunday morning.
Incidentally, our meat (beef, lamb and hogget in particular) is not fresh, it has been properly hung and dry aged, then cut and frozen at it's prime. We do not 'cryovac' the meats, which is an anaerobic and commercial shelf life extending process, which we take issue with (basically the meat festers in it's own blood). All processes are 'food safe' NSW, and ACT health department inspected, approved and registered.
Also available are our outstandingly good eggs form genuinely free range and pastured chooks.
We take our raw honey to the markets as well. Raw honey is very different (and better for you) to the heat treated, highly filtered and blended sweet sticky stuff avaiable from the supermarkets. We are often asked for individual cuts of meat.
Sorry, but we do not sell individual cuts of meat. We are farmers who sell in packs at reasonable prices, not retail butchers. If we sold individual cuts our focus would shift from farming, to retailing 'a product'. This is not what we are about, and we can't be all things to all people. We hope you understand.
We look forward to seeing you at the markets!
